"Ancestry of a Dancer"
Ponders the genetic influence of our desires....if dancing were emphasized along our genetic history, would we be drawn to dance? How much does our genetic make-up affect who we are?

"Dance the Girl Free"
Earth can be described as a living library, with lessons for humanity contained within every living thing. The dawning of the next century calls for an awakening of the Goddess energies, the feminine principle within women as well as men, and the energies of the large cats are available to help us with these lessons. The tiger walks without fear, with grace and an empowered sensuality in regards to life. As women, we have come a long way, and it is now time to be totally empowered in our freedom, abandon the path of victimhood completely, and walk the path of the tiger.

"Amazing Grace"
Created as I was taking a leap into the unknown - quitting my secure job, selling my house, just trusting in the next adventure and letting it lead me where I needed to go.

"The Darkness Within"
Through the process of this painting, I made peace with the "darkness within" and began to appreciate the beauty in it all, and the passion for life no matter the pain. There is such a connection between passion and pain - do we create pain to connect us to life more fully?

"Sekmet"
Inspired by a visit to the Detroit Institute of Arts during the Egyptian Exhibition. Seeing her statue, a lion-faced woman, sent a ball of fire through my heart. According to modern history books, Sekmet was the goddess of war. Other texts reference each god and goddess of ancient times as aspects of ourselves, and the temples created for these gods and goddesses were initiation chambers for those pursuing spiritual paths. The aspect of Sekmet draws upon our inner strengths to overcome, or "go to war", with obstacles and limitations in our lives.

"Mind"
This was my first painting designed in 3D autocad software, creating the structure, rotating it to the perfect angle, getting the tiled floor just right and tracing my guidelines onto the canvas. I enjoy creating the structures in virtual reality, but I feel the rest must be done on canvas - real paint and canvas captures the essence of the painting, the emotion the artist is conveying.

"Warrior"
While I was living in the city, one night I wanted so much just to go outside, stomp my feet on the bare ground and scream at the moon. This was the vision I got, and I transferred my angst on to the canvas.
