 Buffalo

I finished the majority of this painting after attending a ceremony at Serpent Mound in Ohio, ancient burial grounds located east of Cincinnati.  I sometimes drift into an altered state while painting, and with this work I had five phrases "come through", float into my conscious mind:

ah-ee-go-a-chay
o-ca-ah-la
d' own-ah-ch-ah-ee
ah-eh(ah)-shee
oun-shay-ah-cha-ka

They are spell phonetically, and I have tried to translate them, but my resources are limited.  If anyone has a clue as to the meaning of these phrases, I would appreciate it.  Aren't mysteries fun?

Mallards vs. Gull

This painting was the result of being in the right place at the right time, with camera in hand. My neighbor was feeding the family of ducks when a gull landed for a snack, too. The mother duck felt threatened, attacked the gull, with her babies following suit. The gull got away and the ducks returned to eating bread crusts.
